Microchipping of all dogs in England
On 6 February 2012 the Government announced that they will be introducing legislation to make micro chipping of all dogs compulsory in England from 6 April 2016.
From that date owners will need to:
- Have their dog micro chipped and registered on one of the authorised commercial databases available;
- Register the details of any new owner before they sell or give the dog away;
- Keep their contact details up-to-date on the microchip databases.
As of 6th April 2016. It will be your responsibly to ensure that as well as ensuring your own dogs are micro chipped ALL puppies bred and homed by yourself are micro chipped BEFORE being homed with their new owners you are also responsible for registering the puppies on one of the authorised databases.
As of 6th April 2016. It will be your responsibly to ensure that all of your dogs are micro chipped, registered on one of the authorised databases and ensuring that any change of details are kept up to date.
